Feels good in the hand, handles well and very sharp
It’s hard to find a nice curved pairing knife for this price and this hits the all the marks. The edge lasts a while and it is very comfortable to hold. I love this blade for cutting broccoli, the shape makes it so easy to cut florets off of the crown. Make sure you’re careful with it. A coworker dropped it on a stainless table and the very edge of the tip broke off. Easily fixable but this shouldn’t have happened. I was more made at the coworker than the knife. All clad makes some great working knife’s that don’t break the bank.
I love All-Clad cookware, and this paring knife is beautifully made, as one would expect. The blade seamlessly blends into the handle, and the entire knife is well-balanced. It has a nice heft without being heavy. The blade edge and curve are inward, making it very well suited to paring. I expect this will become my go-to paring knife for sure.
I got the All-Clad Forged Knives 3-Inch Curved Paring Knife for two reasons: I am a sucker for any and all kitchen and cooking related gadgets and tools, and more importantly, I was very interested in the curved blade.Right out of the gate, I loved the look and feel of this paring knife. It is an attractive piece, and has a good weight to it. You can just feel the quality. My first venture with the knife was to peel some mangoes. Let me say this... It is a SHARP freaking knife, ok? So BE CAREFUL. I speak from experience, here folks. There are two point of brutality. As shown in my picture above, obviously the tip of the knife is super sharp. But there another very VERY sharp point at the base of the blade. I am not ashamed to say it got me pretty good. So watch how you hold the knife and where you put your fingers/thumb.The knife peeled the thick skin of the mangoes with ease, and I lost very little of the fruit in the process. The curve of the blade followed the curve of the fruit nicely and made it SO much easier to pare the skin when compared to a straight paring blade.I am very pleased with the All-Clad Forged Knives 3-Inch Curved Paring Knife and it is a welcome, albeit deadly, addition to my knife block. It is a high quality, effective knife.
During the pandemic, we, like so many other people, started cooking more at home and going out less often to eat. We’ve continued that practice even though the pandemic is over. As a result, we’re finding that there are kitchen tools that we never had that would be very beneficial…such as a curved paring knife. We invested in All-Clad cookware more than 20 years ago, realizing the value of really good cookware — and All-Clad products — even when we were not cooking very often. So when we saw this All-Clad curved paring knife, we decided it was worth giving it a try. And we’re not disappointed.Observations:*As you would expect, this knife is really useful for fruits and vegetables.*Compared to our other high quality knives (Henkels chef’s knife, Cangshan steak knives), the weight of this All-Clad knife is much more in the handle than being evenly distributed. Interestingly, we find that having a highly-weighted handle makes it much easier to use than our budget straight-edge paring knife, which has the weight more evenly distributed.*Blade stays sharp longer than our budget straight-edge paring knife…we don’t have to sharpen it as often as we do our budget paring knife.
The handle is really nice and heavy and the construction of the metal is nicer than any other knives we own; however, I cant find a rational use for the knife, due to the extreme curvature. I just don’t peel enough apples and citrus to justify this tool.
This knife is different for sure. Because it’s curved inwards, you’re not going to be a chopping machine on the cutting board. It serves a very specific purpose, and it’s great for that. Small scale tasks like peeling an apple or deveining shrimp are so much easier with this knife. A great addition to the arsenal!
It's All-Clad, so you know it's going to be quality. The knife is heavy for its size and is very sharp. The handle is well built, and not cheap. You can feel the weight in it. ALso, watch out for the curved blade!
This is a nice knife, but it is not perfect. I like the shape and sharpness. It is not balanced, but feels nicely weighted in the handle. I wish it wasn't made in China for the price.
I wanted to try a curved blade paring knife and found this. I decided to try it, and I'm so glad I did! I'm still getting used to the curve, but have found that it makes cutting into harder foods a little easier. Overall, I think it's also a personal preference but I do like it. The quality of this knife is really high - All Clad is a great brand. The handle is weighted and the knife is balanced really well. Be careful, but it's super sharp!!! I definitely recommend this!
